The River Kennet is a beautiful, clean and clear wild chalk stream, widely claimed to be one of the finest chalk streams in the country.  It is largely unspoilt and not manicured making it a haven for wildlife both instream and on the surrounding meadows and chalk downs.

Day tickets can be taken on our Denford Fishery, which lies at the confluence of the Rivers Dunn and Kennet downstream from Hungerford.  It boasts a thriving population of wild trout and grayling.  The fishery is lightly and delicately stocked with young brown trout to help maintain the population.

Denford has been restored over the past three years and we have a dedicated water keeper, focussed on maintain the beautiful river.  The beats at Denford are largely carriers but include some of the main River Kennet and half waters stretching over two miles allowing plenty of space to wonder whilst remaining relatively close to base.
