Fishery Information

The Dell is our newest water on the complex, it’s run as a syndicate with 60 members.

The lake was dug in 2005/6 as an irrigation reservoir to supply the surrounding farmers fields and is gradually maturing. There are endless features with bars scattered all over the lake with depths varying from 2ft to 18ft.

The lake has 20 designated swims which have been built to the highest standard.

The water is home to approximately 200 carp with numerous twenties and over 30 thirties including a 39lb common. We currently have 2 forties with the current lake record standing at 45lb 5oz. There are some small 10lb plus fish that have grown on from eggs in the last 3 years.

The facilities are second to none with electric gates so you don’t have to get out of your vehicle on entering the lake. There is a large car park with ample parking.

Other features include: Lodge which houses a 5 star kitchen with a fridge and freezer to store your food and bait should you wish to do so. Two electric showers housed in two separate cubicles. Flush toilet along with fresh running water.

Before you start fishing you are supplied with a landing net, unhooking mat and weigh sling, this is to stop cross contamination of any diseases.

There is also an on-site bailiff.

Berwick Ponds is a well established syndicate water at 12 acres in size with approximately 7 acres of fishable water. The remainder is covered by Norfolk reeds mase and sedge.

The swims had a major overall 2 years ago and are now up to the standard we expect. The paths have also had a major overall and so have the 3 car parks.

Other facilities that are available are an electric shower along with a flush toilet, there are also electric power points and fresh drinking water.

5 years ago we had the lake de-silted. This took around 3 months with some 12,000 cubic metres of silt removed which made the fishing a lot better. The stock is now brimming with carp up to 34lb along with wels catfish up to 60lb.

There is an ongoing stocking programme with fish being brought in from our own stock ponds.
