Fishery Information

The Old River Irwell is located in Irlam, Manchester. This is an old stretch of the river which was cut off when the
Manchester Ship Canal was built. As a consequence, this water has become a stillwater approximately 3 acreas in size. Its shape makes this an ideal fishery for match anglers since the water is long and broad. A few years back the water has suffered a great pollution when raw sewage entered the water. This water is known for its pike, but there are occasional carp, bream and eel.
