We offer three well-stocked fishing lakes. The carp lake, which is our specimen lake, holds a large head of Mirror and Common Carp up to 30LB. Our Roadside Lake is a great pleasure fishing lake that is also used for Open Matches or Angling Club Matches, with regular competitions and day-ticket fishing. Island Lake is a leisure lake for coarse fisherman with carp up to 20LB.
In total, we have 87 pegs. Some are wheelchair accessible and most have car parking behind them. All lakes are easily accessible with use of full toilet facilities and our café, be it a pre-fishing breakfast or a drink while fishing.
Dug in the 1930’s our well stocked fishing lakes are mature, picturesque and packed with features including plateaus, gravel spots, drop offs, marginal shelves, over hanging trees, lily pads and lots more.
Island Lake
At just over an acre in size the island lake has lots of features, two of which are a large Island on the North end and a small Island on the South end. The beautiful lily pads on both the North and South ends create shade and shelter for the fish in all weathers, along with the trees that surround the lake. These areas are where most of the larger carp hang out in the summer months. This lake is ideal for the fishermen wanting to relax, unwind, and enjoy a day of leisurely fishing and with so many features to fish to, you can’t fail to end your day with a good mixed bag of fish.
Road Lake
This lake is great for pleasure fishing but is also used for accommodating organised match fishing, corporate events, coaching days and day-ticket fishing. It’s ideal for anglers wanting to test their fishing skills and catch a large mixed bag of fish.
The Lake is approx 1.8 acre in size with depths of 5 feet on the South end to 12 feet on the North end with shallower waters in the margins. It has recently been re-stocked with Ide, Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach, Barble, Crucian, Chub, many F1 Carp, Mirror & Common Carp and Ghost Carp up to 20LB.
It has 43 permanent pegs, some of which are wheelchair accessible and disabled-friendly.
The East side of the lake is less steep than the West side and easily accessible with a lot of excellent pegs mainly used for feeder fishing. Pole fishing is also very popular on this lake.
Speci Lake
The lake is about 2.5 acres in size and has many features, such as gravel bars, drop offs, plateaus and a lily bed. Our well-established lake has a lot of natural food for the fish to thrive on.
There are 18 pegs and depths of 5 feet at the South end to 16 feet at the North end. The most popular methods are feeder and ledger fishing but pole fishing for silvers can be very rewarding.
We have a large head of Mirror and Common Carp ranging from single figures up to 30LB as well as specimen Tench, Grass Carp, Bream and Rudd, as well as Roach up to 3LB 10oz. For winter fishing there is a large head of Pike weighing up to 29.5lb.
Tree-lined banks all around the lake give plenty of cover for the fish in the summer months but when the sun is full on the open water they can be seen in their shoals sunbathing near the surface; a sight not to be missed!
By late afternoon to early evening you just have to get a line in the edge, where you will find all the big fish grubbing around for leftover bait.
Pre-booking for this lake is advisable but not essential, unless you require a specific peg.
