Fishery Information

Welcome to Elinor Trout Fishery …
Elinor is Northamptonshire’s premier medium-sized trout fishery. There are 50 acres of spring-fed, gin-clear limestone water. Because of the clear alkaline water, natural food is in abundance and our trout ‘grow on’ well becoming fat and healthy! There are superb fly hatches at Elinor which encourage many fish to surface feed. Depending on the time of year, buzzers, olives, sedges, damsels, daddies, corixa and daphnia all provide rich feeding for the Elinor trout.

Elinor Information

Fly-fishing for Brown & Rainbow Trout, in idyllic surroundings. Our 2021 Season is from 7am on the 6th of February to the 31st of December, but we will be closed during August. Season permit holders may bank fish in January 2022.

At Elinor Trout Fishery there are 1.5 miles of superbly accessible bank fishing, which means there is plenty of space without Elinor being too large and daunting.

We have a modern fleet of 15 modern boats, plus we have a Wheelyboat available with electric engine and battery provided. We stock weekly with top quality Rainbows and Browns.

Best Fish in 2020

• Rainbow Bank: 13lb 6oz Phil Musgrove, Sawtry
• Rainbow Boat: 13lb 6oz Bob Senior, Stamford

Our rods tend to keep only a few fish to eat and this has resulted in a large number of grown-on fish. Also Float-tubers are always made most welcome at Elinor, plus we now have a fleet of 16 “fifteen foot” Coulam boats on the water .

Stocking weekly with top quality Rainbows & Browns. Our Gin clear, well oxygenated spring fed water gives a stable environment for our hard fighting, well-conditioned fish to live in.
