Fishery Information

Fontburn Reservoir is a friendly and welcoming fishery known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Despite being one of the smaller waters, Fontburn offers exceptional trout fishing experiences for both fly and any method anglers. Additionally, it is home to a healthy population of roach, providing an excellent opportunity for coarse anglers. The fishery takes pride in catering to disabled anglers, with a dedicated platform available on the north shore.

For adventurous anglers, exploring the less-frequented middle and western sections of the north and south shore can lead to exciting fishing encounters, especially when the trout are widely dispersed.

All fish stocked in Fontburn Reservoir are bred in their own onsite fish farm, ensuring high quality and healthy fish populations. Some of the stocked fish are tagged, presenting the chance to win cash prizes. Anglers are also permitted to use loose feed and ground bait around the reservoir to enhance their fishing experience.

On-site, there is an excellent lodge shop that caters to all the fishing needs of anglers. It offers a comprehensive selection of rods, reels, tackle, accessories, clothing, worms, bait, as well as ice creams and refreshments, including hot and cold drinks.
