The Felling Fly Anglers Club provides access to approximately 4.1 miles of the River North Tyne, renowned as England’s premier salmon river. Stretching from Low Carriteth to the tail of the Eals beat, this section of the river offers a variety of named pools, including Charlton, Hesleyside, and Ridings, making it the club’s most productive and extensive fishing stretch. Anglers from the club have successfully landed salmon weighing up to 28 pounds, as well as sea trout up to 12 pounds. The North Tyne also boasts a significant population of brown trout, with catches of up to 4 pounds reported annually. Ample and secure parking facilities are available in close proximity to all fishing beats.

It’s important to note that fishing conditions on the North Tyne can be influenced by releases from Keilder Reservoir. These releases can vary in volume, ranging from a compensation flow of 2.5 cubic meters per second (cumex) to a significant 50 cumex, which may render the river unfishable. For up-to-date information on releases from Keilder Reservoir, anglers can contact 01434-240463.
