Dollar Lake at Gunthorpe Gravel Pits is a large and picturesque 28-acre gravel pit that offers excellent fishing opportunities for carp anglers. The lake provides a diverse range of features that cater to the needs of carp, including underwater bars, deep and shallow areas, overhanging trees, islands, and weed beds.

The fish population in Dollar Lake is impressive, with Carp, Tench, Bream, Zander, and Pike of high quality and size. Anglers can expect to encounter big fish in this lake, making it a dream destination for carp fishing enthusiasts.

When it comes to fishing methods, using a marker rod to accurately locate features and assess the underwater terrain is highly recommended. Additionally, bait boats will be allowed on a trial basis, but strict monitoring will be in place. If the use of bait boats is abused, the individual responsible for the misuse will be banned from the lake, rather than the boat itself. This trial period is a deviation from Ashfield rules, which typically do not permit bait boats. Therefore, it’s essential for anglers to adhere to the guidelines and use bait boats responsibly.
