Fishery Information

Hackett Lakes is a premier fishing destination in Nottingham, offering two well-stocked lakes and a beautiful natural setting. Located just a few miles from Nottingham city, it is renowned for providing high-quality fishing experiences.

The lakes are open during the winter months from dawn until dusk, allowing anglers ample time to enjoy their fishing sessions.

To ensure the preservation of the lakes and the fish stock, Hackett Lakes has implemented common-sense regulations. These include a strict catch and release policy, the use of barb-less hooks only, and the prohibition of braided hook lengths and spodding. Anglers are also expected to keep the lakeside clean by taking their litter home and keeping dogs on leads away from the water.

Lake 1 is the smaller of the two lakes and serves as an ideal match lake. Carp weighing up to 20 lbs were introduced to this lake in 2005, providing exciting fishing opportunities. In addition to Carp, the lake is home to abundant Perch, Chub, Roach, and Tench.

Lake 2, the larger of the two lakes, was also stocked with Carp of similar size in 2005. It is renowned for offering some of the best fishing experiences in Nottingham. During the summer, Perch, Chub, and Roach can be found in the reeds, while they tend to move to deeper pools in the winter when the water cools.
