Manor Pool is a compact yet fruitful fishing spot that offers anglers an enjoyable experience. While there are a few restrictions, such as no keepnets, boilies, or groundbait, the use of maggots and bread has proven to be highly effective.

Measuring 150 feet in length and 60 feet in width, Manor Pool is densely populated with Mirrors and Commons weighing up to 20 pounds. While I personally lost a larger specimen, it likely wasn’t more than 10 pounds. There are plenty of carp in the 5 to 6-pound range, as well as numerous mirrors and commons weighing around 1 to 2 pounds that exhibit remarkable fighting abilities.

In addition to carp, Manor Pool is also home to Tench weighing up to 5 pounds, and there have been sightings of hybrids, roach, and small bream. During my recent visits, I was primarily focused on carp, but other anglers have enjoyed success with these species as well.

On one occasion, during a 12-hour session from 9 am, I managed to catch around 30 pounds of fish using strawberry pellets on the pod and bread on the float. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any maggots on hand, as the nearest tackle shop is located in Bridgnorth, approximately a 20-mile round trip away.

Overall, Manor Pool offers a rewarding fishing experience, with a variety of fish species available and different techniques proving successful.
