Fishery Information

Emborough Pond, also known as Lechmere Water, is a picturesque 10-acre lake nestled between the charming villages of Emborough and Ston Easton in Somerset. Originally a smaller mill pond, it has a fascinating history dating back to 1525 when it was held on a 51-year lease by monks. The monks took care of the pond and stocked it with various fish species including bream, tench, perch, and roach. During that time, the monks relied on the fish as a source of sustenance, as meat consumption was prohibited. Today, Emborough Pond offers anglers a tranquil setting to enjoy fishing and appreciate the legacy left by the monks.
