Colston Hall Fishery

We offer our B&B and cottage guests the exclusive opportunity to fish in our two private lakes, covering a total area of 1.5 acres (0.6ha). These lakes are home to a variety of fish species, including mirror and common carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, golden orf, and ghost koi.

At Colston Hall, there is no closed season, allowing fishing all year round. Fishing is permitted between 7am and dusk, providing ample time to enjoy your angling experience. For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, we kindly ask that under 16s are accompanied by an adult while fishing.

To ensure a fair and organized fishing environment, we have prepared swims for anglers to fish from. We request the use of barbless hooks to minimize harm to the fish. As part of our commitment to the preservation of fish stocks, we ask that carp over 2lb (900g) are not kept in keep-nets.

To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, we kindly request that radios are not used during fishing sessions. Additionally, we ask guests not to bring dogs, camp on the premises, or create fires. It is important to respect the natural habitat and the existing fish population, so introducing or removing fish from the lakes is not allowed.

We kindly ask anglers to be mindful of the environment and dispose of any litter properly. If you require a drying room for wet outdoor clothing and muddy boots, we provide this facility for your convenience. Additionally, our “wash house” is available for the storage of fishing tackle and bait.

The cost of fishing is £10 per day, allowing up to 2 rods per person. We believe this offers great value for an enjoyable fishing experience in our picturesque lakes.
