Sherwood Water (Reydon Pit 1), also known as Reydon No. 1, is a fantastic fishing pit with 29 pegs. It is the largest pit managed by the Society and offers a wide range of fishing methods and species. The lake features a beautiful mix of reed-fringed areas, deep margins, and a shallower bay with lily pads. The depths vary from two to three feet to over 14 feet.

Pegs 1 and 2 are specifically reserved for disabled anglers and have dedicated parking bays with easy access to the pegs on well-maintained asphalt paths. There is a unisex toilet facility available for anglers’ convenience. The entire perimeter of the lake is accessible, but anglers must ensure that the gate is always kept closed to preserve the integrity of the otter fencing.

Sherwood Water (Reydon Pit 1) is home to a variety of species, making it a fantastic mixed fishery. Anglers can target common and mirror carp weighing up to 24lb, bream up to 15lb, tench up to 7lb, crucian carp up to 2.5lb, chub up to 3lb, as well as roach, rudd, perch, and gudgeon. With such a diverse range of fish, there are plenty of opportunities for anglers of all preferences and skill levels to enjoy a rewarding fishing experience at Sherwood Water (Reydon Pit 1).
