Fishery Information

The short stretch of canal in Warwick, originally part of the Warwick/Birmingham Canal, was opened in the 1790s. It later became known as the Warwick-Napton Canal and served as a terminus for the Warwick and Birmingham Canal. Its primary purpose was to transport goods near the Town Centre, including the Warwick Castle and market. The construction of a gas works in 1822 near the canal arm increased its usage. Today, it remains a historic feature and offers recreational activities such as boating and fishing.
