Fishery Information

Nestled in a dip between Pensnett and Brierley Hill, the land that was formerly part of the Round Oak steelworks site has undergone a remarkable transformation into a captivating location.

It is now known as the “Buckpool and Fens pool Nature Reserve,” comprising four pools, including Fens, Middle, and Grove, in addition to a smaller pool commonly referred to as the stock pool, although whether there is a deliberate stocking plan for the site is debatable.

All four pools are inhabited by fish, including some of substantial size. The three larger pools and the adjacent canal boast impressive fish stocks, with notable species such as pike and carp.
