Fishery Information

The River Calder in Yorkshire is a short stretch of water before it meets the River Aire. It is 1500 yards long and is deep and slow-moving. The river is 35 yards wide and 20 feet deep. You can access the river from the top near a boat yard next to the A639 bridge between Methley and Castleford. You can also access it halfway down at the end of Pottery Street off A6032 Methley Road. Common fish species in this area include roach, perch, bream, pike, and gudgeon.
