Fishery Information

The Association has the fishing rights for two stretches of the River Hull at Bethell’s Bridge, two miles north of Brandesburton Ponds.

The first stretch is downstream of the bridge and extends from the gate near the house on the right hand bank, to the gate immediately upstream of Hempholme Pumping Station – this agreement also covers a short length of Scurf Dyke (about half way along the stretch). Signs showing the extent of the fishing have been erected. Do not fish in front of the house at the bridge. The other stretch is upstream on the same west bank (left bank when looking upstream)and begins after the second gate (see notice board). It extends approximately 550 metres to where the other Association’s notice board is located, almost to the confluence with West Beck.
Do not cause any nuisance to any of the boat owners or fish from their boats or occupied moorings, unless specifically invited to do so. Excellent parking is available on the left, over the bridge, behind the house. The parking is signposted.
This is predominately a winter fishery offering quality roach fishing, especially on the float, when the fish shoal up near the boats and the prolific weed has been cut.
