Three days, four anglers, 32 carp, SIX thirties, and one absolutely ridiculous venue… welcome to Farm Lakes Retreat.
In this session, myself, Sam Newman, Ian Rome, and Martin Weatherbe head down to what can only be described as one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming carp fisheries. With around 170 carp in just 4 acres, including loads of 30lb fish and several fish pushing the magical 40lb barrier, we knew this trip had serious potential from the moment we arrived.
From the peg draw to screaming takes, shallow water action, pristine fully-scaled mirrors, luxury lakeside facilities, and non-stop chaos throughout the mornings, this session honestly delivered everything you could want from modern carp fishing.
Over the course of the trip we:
Landed 32 carp between the four of us
Banked SIX different 30lb carp
Had multiple fish over 34lb
Witnessed insane daytime feeding spells
Fished against tree lines, bars, plateaus & shallow margins
Put Parker Baits OG Fish Waftters to serious work
Used simple but devastating spinner and Game Over style rigs
Experienced one of the cleanest and most well-run fisheries we’ve ever visited
This venue truly has a VIP feel to it. The cabin, showers, facilities, stock quality, and peaceful surroundings make it feel more like a holiday retreat than a fishery — but the carp are what really steal the show.
