About Charltons Pond
Charltons Pond in Cleveland is a beautiful two lake complex surrounded by mature woodlands. The lakes were created in the 1930s when a clay pit was flooded.
The Small Pond has 22 fishing spots, with paths around the pond for easy access. Two of the spots are specially designed for wheelchair users. This pond is stocked with carp, crucian carp, roach, rudd, ide, perch, tench, bream, and gudgeon. It’s a great spot for anglers of all skill levels, and there are regular junior matches on Saturday mornings in the summer. The biggest catch in a senior event was 54lb in a 3-hour evening match.
The Large Pond is six acres and is perfect for both casual and serious anglers. You can find carp up to 30lb, bream up to 9lb, and tench up to 7lb. The summer months are great for fishing near the bank, and there are also plenty of silver fish in this pond.
