About Saltburn Pier

The Saltburn Pier in Cleveland is a great spot for fishing. You can catch a lot of whiting on calm, frosty nights and even more cod after a big north swell in February and March. When the tide is low, you can also fish from the rocks or the sandy beach. The pier used to be longer, but it’s been damaged and the council has cut back on spending. It’s still a good place to fish over high tide in both summer and winter. In the summer, use crab and fish bait for the best results. In the winter, try using worm, crab, fish, and mussel bait to catch cod, whiting, and sometimes bass.
