Aldin Grange Fishery in Durham is a peaceful and beautiful fishing spot spread across 20 acres of farmland. There are five lakes filled with fish – two for trout fishing (fly fishing only), two for coarse fishing, and one for competitions. The coarse lakes have Carp, Crucian, Tench, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Chub, and more. The Carp range in size from 8oz to 20lb. Only barbless hooks are allowed and ground bait must be used in a feeder or pole cup. The fishery is open from 7am until dusk (9pm) and there are rules about the number of rods allowed depending on the season.
The Trout Fishing Lakes are for fly fishing only and have Rainbow, Brown, and Blue Trout. Only Rainbow Trout can be kept, and they range from 1lb to 15lb. The lakes are easily accessible and suitable for disabled and elderly anglers. There are marked pegs with stable bases and well-maintained vegetation. Facilities on site include a car park, toilets, fishing lodge, meals, drinks, a microwave, bait, and a farm shop. Matches and corporate days can be arranged, and coaching is available from resident coaches.
