How To Fish A New Venue (Catch More Carp)

Today I’m fishing a venue I’ve never seen before and trying to work out the lake from scratch.

With the lake packed out and only a handful of swims available, I start by walking the lake, looking for signs of fish and speaking to local anglers to build a plan. After spotting a ghost carp show and getting some valuable information from the anglers already fishing, it’s time to put the rods out.

The lake record was recently broken at over 41lb, and although this session didn’t go exactly to plan, there’s plenty to learn from fishing a completely unknown venue.
