About River Teme
The River Teme in Herefordshire is known for its great fishing, especially for barbel, chub, and roach. The Lower Teme stretch is particularly good for catching big barbel. Other fish you might find here include pike, bream, roach, perch, and eels. The water extends for about one and a half miles.
To get to the water downstream from the Old Powick Bridge, use the stile at the back of the car park by the Old Bridge. Don’t enter through Bennetts Farm Dairy. Park your car or motorcycle in the designated parking area or near the Old Bridge.
To access the water upstream from the Old Powick Bridge, go through the entrance by the bungalow at the Old Bridge. Don’t park your vehicle in the lane. The top boundary of this water is the end of the second meadow above the weir. There are two entrances for the water above the bridge: through the gate opposite the bungalow entrance or continuing along the lane and over the gate for the water below the weir and above the mill stream.
