About Allen Valley Angling and Conservation
Allen Valley Angling and Conservation (AVAC) is a group that started in 2011 by Paul Frear. They love the environment and enjoy fishing. AVAC’s main goal is to encourage fishing on the River East Allen while also taking care of the river’s plants and animals.
AVAC has permission to fish in a big part of the river, from above Allenheads to below Allen Mill Bridge. They also offer fishing at Coatenhill Reservoir near Spartylea. All of these fishing spots are in the beautiful North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
People mostly fish for wild brown trout in the area, but sometimes they catch sea trout or salmon too.
AVAC is happy to have new members who like fishing and protecting nature. They offer memberships and day tickets for local anglers and visitors to enjoy fishing in the river.
