About Higham Lakes

Higham Lakes in Northumberland is a family-owned trout fishery with three lakes that are regularly stocked with rainbow, brown, blue, and golden trout ranging from 2lb to 28lb.

There are two fly-only lakes and one bait and fly lake for anglers to enjoy. The bottom lake is catch and release only for fly fishing with fish from 5lb to 20lb+. Anglers are limited to catching 4 fish on a 5-hour ticket and 6 fish on a full day ticket.

Higham Lakes caters to both experienced and novice anglers, offering tuition for those wanting to learn. They also host corporate parties, competitions, and clubs.

Please note that the specimen lake is currently closed for maintenance.

The opening times are as follows:
– Tuesday: 8am – 5pm
– Wednesday to Sunday: 8am – 7pm
They may be closed in bad weather, so it’s best to check before heading out.

You do not need to book in advance, but make sure to read the rules if it’s your first time visiting. The lodge is closed this season, so bring the correct change for your ticket and use the self-serve drop box.
