About North Tyne

The Felling Fly Anglers Club gives members access to 4.1 miles of the River North Tyne, which is known as one of the best salmon rivers in England. This stretch of the river, from Low Carriteth to the tail of the Eals beat, has pools like Charlton, Hesleyside, and Ridings that are great for fishing. Anglers in the club have caught salmon weighing up to 28 pounds and sea trout up to 12 pounds. There are also plenty of brown trout in the river, with some weighing up to 4 pounds each year. There is secure parking near all the fishing spots.

Just so you know, the fishing conditions on the North Tyne can change depending on releases from Keilder Reservoir. These releases can range from a small flow of 2.5 cubic meters per second to a larger 50 cubic meters per second, which could make the river too rough to fish in. To get the most current information on releases from Keilder Reservoir, anglers can call 01434-240463.
