Whitchurch Lake in Shropshire was accidentally created during the construction of the Whitchurch bypass when land owned by the Bebbington family was dug up for sand and gravel.

The resulting hole filled with water, forming the picturesque Alderford Lake, now a popular spot for visitors to enjoy.

Whitchurch Lake in Shropshire was made when they were building a new road called the Whitchurch bypass. They needed sand and gravel for the road, so they dug up land owned by the Bebbington family. This digging made a big hole that filled up with water and became the lake at Alderford. Now, it’s a pretty spot with nice features for people to enjoy.
