The lake is fairly shallow, around 6 feet deep, with a flat bottom. There are 32 fishing spots around the lake, some suitable for overnight fishing and others for day fishing. Lake 1 is mainly used for match fishing, with fish like Roach, Rudd, Skimmers, Bream, and Carp. Some of the Bream in the lake are quite big, with rumors of some over 10 pounds. There are also Carp in the lake, some weighing over 20 pounds. The biggest Tench caught in the lake was 10 pounds 1 ounce in 2009.
