About The River Great Ouse

The fishing area is along the left side of the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire, from Stafford Bridge to the spinney at the end of the second field. It is about 1,500 meters long and the water flows at different speeds, with some shallow areas and weed growth during the summer. The main fish you can catch include barbel, bream, chub, dace, perch, pike, roach, and some tench.

Parking is available on the opposite side of the river near the pumping station, but be careful not to block the pavement. The banks along the fishing area are steep, so be cautious when going down to the water. There is no public right of way on the club’s bank.

To get there, take the Oakley to Pavenham road and look for the gate to the pumping station before Stafford Bridge. Follow the path to the river, which is about 50 meters away. The fishing area extends from the bridge downstream to the spinney beyond the third island. Remember to park responsibly and enjoy your fishing experience in this beautiful location.
