Wood Lane Lakes in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, is a small fishing spot with two lakes – one for matches and one for catching bigger fish. The match lake is full of carp, with some weighing over 20lb. The record for the most fish caught in a six-hour match is over 270lb, which is a lot of work.
To catch fish here, use a carp waggler about 18-24 inches below the surface and keep feeding them. There are all kinds of fish here, but nothing too big. There’s even a record for the biggest Gudgeon caught here. The biggest Perch caught was over 4lb.
The specimen lake has a few big carp, with the largest one weighing over 32lb. It would be good to remove some of the smaller fish from this lake to help the bigger ones grow. This will make the fishing even better in the future.
