Elinor Trout Fishery in Northamptonshire is a great place for fly-fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout. The fishery covers 50 acres of clear limestone water, which helps the trout grow healthy and fat. There are plenty of natural food sources for the trout, such as buzzers, olives, sedges, damsels, and daphnia.
The fishing season at Elinor runs from February 6th to December 31st, with a break in August. Season permit holders can also fish in January 2022. There are 1.5 miles of accessible bank fishing available, so there is plenty of space for everyone. Elinor has 15 modern boats available, as well as a Wheelyboat with an electric engine.
In 2020, the biggest Rainbow Trout caught from the bank was 13lb 6oz, and from a boat was also 13lb 6oz. The fishery has a policy of keeping only a few fish to eat, which has led to a large number of well-grown fish. Float-tubers are welcome at Elinor, and there are 16 Coulam boats available for use.
