About Huddersfield Canal
Sparth Reservoir is a fishing spot in Greater Manchester, controlled by the Slaithwaite and District Angling Club. It is located next to the Huddersfield Canal. The water is pretty much the same all around, and the best fishing spots are where the wind blows. It is a popular place for walking, so you might get bothered a bit if you sit in the wrong spot. Since it is a reservoir, there are no facilities available, and it is not very accessible for disabled anglers.
The most common fishing technique here is using a feeder and tip. The main fish you can catch are bream (5lb), roach (1 1/2 lb), and perch (2lb). There are also pike in the water, but most anglers prefer to fish for them at Hilltop Reservoir.
To catch more fish, fish with light gear, use lots of chopped worms to attract fish, and use a waggler or pole (held high) for the best results.
