About Scot Lane New Pond

Scot Lane New Pond is a small and pretty fishing spot in Greater Manchester. It has two ponds with islands in the middle, connected by a canal. Locals call it the ‘Figure of Eight’ because of its shape. You can find it near the JJB Stadium on Stadium Way. There is a car park on the right side and the pond is on the left.

You can buy day tickets at the pond. It costs £3.00 for adults, £2.00 for senior citizens, and £0.50 for children.

The fishing club has a new lease with Wigan Council, and they are improving the pond. They have replaced the old wooden fishing spots with 20 new concrete ones in the back pond. In April, they also renewed 18 fishing spots in the front pond and part of the canal, making a total of 38 improved fishing spots.
