About Willow Tree Lake
Willow Tree Lake in Devon is a newly built carp fishing lake in Bideford, North Devon. It was dug and stocked with mostly fast-growing, scaly mirror carp 2 years ago. There are only a few common carp in the lake.
The lake is 1.5 acres in size and has 80 carp in total. Over the past 2 years, some of the carp have grown by 11 pounds! We hope that at least 6 of our fish will reach over 30 pounds next season because of our feeding program. Even when no one is fishing, we continue to feed the carp our house boilies and pellets throughout the year to keep them interested.
You can buy these baits from us when you book your fishing trip. Our carp range in size from 10 to 30 pounds, with an average weight of 15 pounds. Many of the carp have never been caught before, so they put up a good fight when caught.
The lake has a variety of features such as an island, plateaus, gravel bars, lily pads, and reeds. It was designed and dug by a carp angler for other carp anglers. The depth of the lake ranges from 1 foot to 9 feet deep, so it’s a good idea to bring your marker rod with you.
