About Hortons Pond

Hortons Pond Kent Horton Kirby Lakes is a fishing spot in Kent with four lakes and a section of the River Darent. It is managed by Dartford and District Angling and Preservation Society.

When you arrive at the fishery, the lake on the left is called Westminster, and the one on the right is Viaduct. If you walk between the lakes, you will reach the Western lake. The Silt pond is located between the river and Westminster lake.

Viaduct Lake is a great spot for Carp fishing, with Carp weighing over 30lb, Tench over 7lb, Bream over 6lb, Pike over 20lb, Eels over 4lb, Perch over 3lb and Roach over 1lb. Boilies and particles are effective baits for Carp, while feeder fishing works well for Bream.

Westminster Lake is another good Carp fishing spot, with Carp weighing over 37lb, Tench nearly reaching double figures, and double figure Bream.

Western Lake has recently been stocked with Tench and small Carp, as well as some larger Carp, Perch, Rudd, and Roach.

Silt Pond is stocked with Tench, Roach up to 2lb, Crucian Carp, and some big Perch.

Remember, do not move any fish between lakes without permission from the DDAPS committee.
