About Banjo Lake

Banjo Lake in Hertfordshire is a great spot for new carp anglers or those looking to catch a lot of fish. The lake is just over four acres in size and has recently been renovated by the LVRPA. In 2006, 200 Mirror Carp between 2lb and 5lbs were stocked in the lake. Since then, more Mirror Carp have been introduced, including some larger ones that have grown to over 28lbs.

The lake is full of interesting features like gravel bars, plateaus, and lily pads. You can access the lake from Marsh Lane in Stanstead Abbots.

If you’re looking to catch some fish, try using a good quality boilie with a PVA bag of pellets on top. The fish in the lake have been regularly fed on pellets since they were stocked. Be careful not to fish too close to the reed beds, as they are newly planted and fenced off to protect them from waterfowl.
