About Hadley Angling and Preservation Society
Hadley Angling and Preservation Society (HAPS) is a small club that was started in 1982 to manage fishing at Jack’s Lake in Hadley Woods, Barnet, Hertfordshire. The lake is open to both members and people who buy day tickets. The club also organizes fishing matches and trips for its members.
The lake has 44 spots where you can fish, with 27 of them available for day ticket holders. The main types of fish you can catch are carp, bream, roach, tench, chub, pike, rudd, gudgeon, and occasionally eels and barbel.
There are 29 spots where you can fish with a day ticket, and the rest are for club members only. Recent improvements have been made to make the lake more accessible, with new paths, safety platforms, and steps.
Junior anglers are welcome at the lake. There is one spot that is suitable for wheelchairs, but overall the lake does not have formal facilities for disabled anglers. Contact the club for more information.
The cost for a senior ticket per rod is £3, and juniors can fish for free. Concessions are available, and you must have a valid Environment Agency Fishing license if you are over 12 years old. You can fish from sunrise to sunset with a maximum of 2 rods per person and per spot. Make sure to follow the club’s rules.
