About Cromwell Lake Fishery

Cromwell Lake Fishery in Nottinghamshire is a beautiful 18-acre lake that is perfect for fishing. It is located in Newark, just off the A1, and is known for its peaceful and natural surroundings. The lake has different depths, ranging from 3ft to 18ft, with gravel bars, silty areas, and some weed growth at certain times of the year. Even though there is weed in the lake, all spots are still good for fishing, and the variety of underwater features provide food for the fish.

The area around the lake is lovely, with willow, beech, magnolia, scotts pine, and cherry trees that attract wildlife and add to the beauty of the surroundings.

In 2004, Cromwell Lake was turned into a place for catching big carp through stocking the lake with special fish. Now, there are carp in the lake that weigh over 40lbs, with some even reaching 50lbs, and many more that are over 30lbs. The fishery keeps adding new fish every year, working with trusted fish farmers like AJS, Chilston, Arron Standing, 5 Star, VS, and Simmons.

The grounds of Cromwell are well-kept and have been set up with 18 spots for fishing, giving each angler plenty of space. There is a lodge with everything you need for longer fishing trips, and secure parking with CCTV to keep everything safe for visitors and their cars.
