About Abbey Lake

Abbey Lake is a 5-acre reservoir on a farm near the town of Ramsey in Cambridgeshire. It was built in the 1950s and has lots of plants growing around the edges and a big area of reeds on one side.

The lake is mostly 4 feet deep, but there is a deeper part that goes down to 10 feet along one side. There is also a small island in the middle.

In 1999, 150 carp were put into the lake, and they have grown to be quite big, with some weighing over 20 pounds. More carp were added in 2007 and 2008, so now there are lots of fish in the lake, with the biggest one weighing over 34 pounds.

Abbey Lake is a popular spot for people who like to fish for carp. Many anglers have caught lots of big fish here, with some weighing over 20 pounds. The lake is available for groups of up to 4 people all year round, but it’s important to book early if you want to come on a weekend.
