About Birchmere Lake
Birchmere Lake is an 11-acre lake in south east London that is looked after by the Thamesmead Town Angling club. The lake has nice pathways that are easy for disabled people to use.
In 2015, the club worked with the Environmental Agency to add more fish to the lake. They put in 250 carp, as well as tench, bream, rudd, and roach. There are also big pike in the lake, some weighing over 20 pounds.
Unfortunately, there have been problems with people fishing illegally in the past. To stop this, the fish in the lake have been marked with chips to keep track of them.
If you want to fish at Birchmere Lake, you can buy a day ticket. But only club members are allowed to fish there at night.
