Crummock Water

Crummock Water is the largest of three lakes connected to the River Cocker, spanning about two and a half miles in length and half a mile in width.

Fishing is best done from a boat, which can be rented, or from the shore, with numerous access points available, but caution is advised at the southern end where water from Buttermere flows in.

About Crummock Water

Crummock Water is the biggest of three lakes connected to the River Cocker. It is about two and a half miles long and half a mile wide.

If you want to fish here, it’s best to do it from a boat. You can rent a boat, but they only come with oars, so you will need to row a lot. You can also bring your own unpowered boat, but there are no official places to launch it.

If you prefer fishing from the shore, there are plenty of places to access the bank. Just avoid the southern end where the water from Buttermere flows in, as it can be deep and swampy.
