The roach and bream fishing is really good, with some big bream weighing between 5-7lbs. The roach are around 8oz on average but there are some bigger ones too. The tench are usually smaller but there are some around 4lbs. Many people come here just to catch carp, with some reaching up to twenty pounds. In the warmer months, the carp are usually near the surface, so floating baits work well. You can catch a lot of fish in one session if you’re lucky. The tarn is in a secluded woodland area near Kendal with 40 fishing spots. The best time to fish here is from March to October, as it’s tougher in the colder months. Wheelchair anglers can easily access the fishing spots. Only WADAA members can fish here now.
