Fisher Tarn Reservoir in Cumbria is a large reservoir near Kendal. It has stocked rainbow and brown trout that you can catch. You can only use a fly fishing rod here. The Fisher Tarn Angling Association controls the fishing. You might have to wait to join the club, but you can get limited day permits. There aren’t a lot of fish in the water, so it’s best to move around and try different spots. In the summer, there might be a lot of algae, so it’s better to fish early or late in the season.
To get there from Kendal, take the A684 road towards Sedbergh. After crossing the railway, take the second small road on the left (about 1.5 miles). Keep left and follow the road until you see the dam on your right.
