Catterick Complex in Yorkshire has 4 lakes that used to be old quarries. The area can get muddy when it rains, but there is plenty of parking around the lakes for easy access to the fishing spots.

The lakes are well stocked with a variety of fish, including carp weighing over twenty pounds. The rules for fishing here are important and sensible to ensure everyone has a good experience.

The Howe lake has some very large carp, with some weighing over 30 pounds. Copley lake also has carp close to 30 pounds. In 2002, the best carp caught from Howe lake weighed 30 pounds 4 ounces, and from Copley lake, it was 27 pounds 5 ounces.

The match lake has seen a top weight of 46 kilograms caught by 15-year-old Stuart Sexton from Scorton.

To get to Catterick Complex, take the exit at Catterick old village from the A1. Follow Allotment Lane, which is signposted as Swale Lane, all the way down to the bottom and through the metal gate.
