About Paradise Estate Lake

Paradise Estate Lake Essex is a beautiful fishing spot that was taken over in 2004. It is located in the middle of Epping Forest, surrounded by trees, offering a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The banks of the lake have been improved to make fishing easier and more comfortable. There is one platform and eleven flat bank swims, some of which can accommodate two people, giving access to the whole lake and its islands for both float and ledger fishing.

The lake is home to a variety of fish including Carp, Koi Carp, Roach, and Perch. While there were rumors of Tench in the lake, none have been found yet. The lake has few snags, making it ideal for light fishing with a pole or float. Ghost Koi, some of which are almost pure white, can often be spotted cruising around the islands and margins, especially on sunny days.

Near the main lake, there is a smaller lake that has been cleared and stocked with small carp, perfect for young anglers. Access to the lake is through a grassy path, a locked gate, and the old orchard, with parking available about 100 yards away. Wildlife such as rabbits, deer, herons, and foxes can be seen in the early mornings, while goldfinches, greenfinches, woodpeckers, and kingfishers are common during the day.

The lake is private property for members only, but guest tickets are available from the Secretary for members to bring a guest along.
