About Earls Colne Fishing
Earls Colne Reservoir is a 3 acre lake near Colchester, Essex. It used to be a carp fishing spot but was closed because people were leaving trash, throwing fishing line in the water, and stealing fish. Two years ago, we convinced the landowner to let us manage the lake properly. We cleaned up the area, built 8 fishing spots, and got permission to stock catfish. We added 46 catfish, including some big ones up to 62 lbs. The lake is now only open to a select group of fishermen, and the fish have grown really well. The biggest catfish now weigh over 70 lbs. It’s a great spot for catfish enthusiasts, with deep water, no obstacles, and the chance to catch some big fish.
