About The River Chelmer

You can fish along the River Chelmer in Essex, which is now owned by the Mid Essex Angling Association. There is parking available on the right side of the road. If you come from Broomfield, you will find Mill Lane which is a dead-end at the river.

You are allowed to fish for a mile above and below the Mill Pool on the Eastern bank, except for the wierpool which can be fished from both sides. The fish you can catch in this area include carp, chub up to 6 pounds, dace up to 1 pound, perch up to 3.5 pounds, roach up to 2 pounds and 4 ounces, trout up to 2 pounds, pike up to 17.5 pounds, eels up to 3 pounds, bream up to 7 pounds, and tench up to 4 pounds.
